As our show groom, who has been with us for many years, has chosen to seek new challenges, we are looking for a motivated and experienced show groom for a fulltime job – if possible from 1. December 2021.
We offer good working conditions and working hours in a smaller team with travelling for national and international shows.
Candidates for the job should have experience as a show groom and with professional handling of young horses and preferably stallions. If needed we have a nice accommodation at the yard.
The job:
We are looking for a show groom for our stable, who will have his/her daily work at Kristiansminde, where we have appr. 35 riding horses, some of which are our breeding stallions.
As part of team you will be related to our rider Karen Møller Rohde, where your primary tasks will be grooming of this riders allocated horses as well as grooming on shows and approvals in and outside Denmark.
You will have a varied and independent job, where you will be making the horses ready for training, easy stable work, light training of the horses and lots of experiences as a show groom at many different places in and outside Denmark.
Job tasks:
• Daily care and saddling of the horses
• Being responsible for the welfare of the horses (condition, wounds, injuries and more)
• Being responsible for the preparing of the horses for approvals and shows
• Being responsible for packing tack etc. before and after shows and approvals
• Being responsible for cleaning and care of the horse truck
• Handling young horses and stallions
• Taking horses to the paddocks
• Maintenance of the stables
• Assisting the veterinary when needed
• Weekend work and feeding in the evening
• Light stable work
Competences:
• You take responsibility and work independently
• You have an eye for the detail and keep everything in order
• Basic knowledge of the horse anatomy and needs
• Handling of young horses and stallions
• Experience with making horses ready for shows and approvals
• You keep the overview, even when we are busy
• Competence proof and eventually a driving license for trailer and/or truck would be an advantage
• You are a team player

The Ask Stud has more than 20 employees, and you will be part of an interdisciplinary cooperation across the three properties. It is possible to have accommodation near the yard.
